Portfolio Reflection

This project was quite the ride. It started off with being sick and falling behind. It ended with still being behind – but a whole lotta knowledge on Word Press.

I think I may have hit just about every curveball you could find. Luckily, my 1-up at work is a WordPress magician and was able to help.

I had to do things with my php, add code into my .htaccess file, load fonts in a few different ways, debug plug-ins, update plug-ins, remove plug-ins, and contact support for the theme. I was finally able to get onto the right theme, start inputting content, stylizing the content, and make a portfolio.

I think the biggest thing that helped was creating a template for each portfolio project page. That was probably the biggest time saver.

The biggest space taker (other than the WordPress problems) would be creating the content or reformatting the content to fit how I wanted it to be laid out.

For the time being, I’m happy with my site. I think my coworkers may be annoyed with me for talking about it so much, but I’m excited.

Even with that being said, I believe I can continue to push the boundaries of this site.

My favorite project in the site is ‘The Drive’. Just how it was all laid out for my class made it easy to create a full project with lots of information laid out.

  1. I’m glad you had a WordPress wiz to help you with the rocky bits. This is an amazing site, and worth the effort and struggles.
